Work Culture and Your Role in the Company

My client is looking for hands-on technical Electrical Engineers to utilize their acquired design skills and experience to support our complex hand-held medical device product line and participate with the R&D team in the introduction of changes and new designs into manufacturing. These Electrical Engineers will also upgrade and/or develop new test systems (hardware and software) for the verification and testing of our current and future medical devices.

The successful candidates will have experience in the design of analog and digital microprocessor/micro-controller based circuits (preferably for applications involving measurements and motion control) and the ability to program in assembly code and C/C++ (embedded software, and possibly PC based software applications) in a regulated environment (preferably FDA).

Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, and the ability to provide documentation to meet stringent guidelines are required. .  

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Credentials

  • Bachelor Science or Bachelor Engineering, Electrical/Software. Master’s preferred. Curriculum trains students in skills required to perform assignments.
  • Minimum 6 years experience in engineering discipline or advanced education to achieve level of skill. Position meant to correspond to Level III engineer in Radford Benchmark survey.
  • Strong knowledge of electronic theory, structured programming fundamentals. Proficient in C/C++ and Assembly Languages.
  • Strong knowledge of equipment, systems and techniques appropriate to designing/debugging embedded and PC based electronic systems. Experience with measuring and electromechanical systems preferred.
  • Experience in multi-disciplined engineering environments preferred.
  • Work experience in medical devices under FDA regulation preferred.

Major Responsibilities

 

  • Able to apply engineering methods (computer modeling, tolerance analysis, data analysis, experimental methods, etc.) to diagnose product, component, and process performance issues.
  • Strong knowledge of manufacturing process technical and operational details necessary to meet engineering responsibilities.
  • Independently recognize and overcome technical and operational hurdles.
  • Communicate technical and operational data effectively, supporting efficient review, assessment and approval processes. Presentation and communication skills sufficient to effectively lead meeting with multiple individuals from multiple departments to achieve concrete conclusions in efficient manner.
  • Lead product complaint and manufacturing process failure analysis teams.
  • Handle detailed analysis of investigation into product and manufacturing process performance issues.
  • Expected to provide guidance to engineers and technicians on technical matters and project strategy.
  • Erroneous recommendations or failure to anticipate key issues will normally result in visible delay in resolving manufacturing process issues.
