 In this position you will have the opportunity to use your hardware and embedded software design skills to work on state-of-the-art, real-time implementations of signal processing and communications algorithms for Field Programmable Gate Array (FPGA), Digital Signal Processor (DSP), and microcontroller targets for embedded wireless systems.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Credentials

  • Ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance
  • BSEE, or equivalent degree.
  • 5+ years experience in embedded hardware/software design

Major Responsibilities and Daily Job Activities

  • Develop, simulate, and test digital designs in VHDL, targeting FPGAs and ASICs, for embedded wireless communications systems.
  • Schematic capture and PCB layout of digital circuits for low-powered, miniaturized communications systems.
  • Analyze digital signal integrity.
    oDevelop real-time implementations of signal processing algorithms for Field Programmable Gate Array (FPGA), Digital Signal Processor (DSP), and microcontroller targets for embedded wireless communications systems. 
  • Design, develop and debug DSP code in C / C++ / C# and Assembly languages.
  • Develop audio, video, and GUI applications in Visual C/ C++ / C#.
  • Use of lab equipment such as oscilloscope, logic analyzer, spectrum analyzer and network analyzer

Desired Skills and Experience

  • Familiarity with Altium Designer
  • Familiarity with Xilinx/System Generator, Synplify DSP and/or Synplicity
  • Familiarity with signal processing mathematics and MATLAB/Simulink
  • Familiarity with Solidworks
  • Familiarity with analog design
  • Familiarity with networking / data protocols such as TCP/IP, UDP, WLAN, USB, PCI, x.25, GPRS, CAN, I2C and SPI
  • Experience with GUI design
  • MSEE, or equivalent degree
